Wage Benefits - Temporary CompensationIf you are disabled (unable to perform your job and under active medical care) for more than seven days, you may be eligible to receive temporary total benefits (or wage benefit). Once you are out of work for seven days, temporary total benefits will be retroactive to the first day of disability. The benefit consists of 70% of the weekly wages received at the time of the injury subject to maximum and minimums as set forth in the following chart. Your benefits cannot exceed 75% of the State Average Weekly Wage (SAWW) or fall below the minimum rate of 20% of SAWW. Temporary total disability benefits will be paid up to a maximum of 400 weeks. They will be paid from the date that the employee is unable to continue work until the employee is able to return to work or until the employee has received the maximum benefit from medical treatment that is necessary to cure the employee of the impact of the injury and restore function when restoration is possible.New Jersey Workers' Compensation Benefits Rates in effect on the
